Trump gives Israel green light to strike Hezbollah in Lebanon
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told ministers that Donald Trump has given Israel a green light to strike Lebanon, Kan News reported Wednesday.
Lebanon approved a plan in September to disarm Hezbollah by the end of 2025. Israel has meanwhile allowed the Lebanese army to operate south of the Litani and has canceled some strikes at Beirut’s request.
Kan News says the IDF has prepared a broad offensive if those efforts fail and has warned Washington it will act if Hezbollah is not disarmed.
Reports also indicate Hezbollah is preparing for a possible Israeli strike, relocating heavy and long-range weapons north of the Litani and reducing its presence in the south.
