Tax Authority to deny tax benefits to yeshivas with draft evaders
Israel’s Tax Authority is set to launch a new enforcement measure under which yeshivas will be required to submit lists of their students for cross-checking with military authorities, according to a Kan News report.
Under the plan, institutions found to be educating military draft evaders would lose eligibility for tax benefits. According to estimates, the tax incentives at stake are worth tens of millions of shekels annually.
