Syrian military airbase struck, regional reports point to Israel

Four airstrikes by unidentified aircraft hit the runway at Syria’s Abu al-Duhur military airbase east of Idlib overnight, according to Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya reports.

Al Mayadeen, a Lebanese outlet affiliated with Hezbollah, said the strikes are believed to be Israeli, though no other source has confirmed that assessment.

The base has been under the control of Ahmed al-Sharaa’s forces since the fall of Assad and lies several dozen kilometers from the Turkish border.
