Syria offers land route to bypass Strait of Hormuz - report
Syria is offering to serve as an overland route from the Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea amid disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
The Trump administration supports a Chevron-led pipeline from Basra to Baniyas that would carry about 2 million barrels of oil per day. The project is estimated to cost $5.7 billion.
