Syria accuses Israel of airstrikes south of Damascus
Syria's Ministry of Defense reported that Israel had attacked several points south of Damascus in the early morning hours.
The ministry claimed that Syrian air defenses shot down some of the missiles, and that there was damage from the attack.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that two Iranian-backed militia men were killed in the airstrikes by Israeli fighter jets during attacks on two different positions south of Damascus.
According to SOHR, both sites are operated by Hezbollah.
