Swiss parliament rejects recognition of Palestinian state citing neutrality
Switzerland’s parliament has rejected a proposal to recognize a Palestinian state, with 116 lawmakers voting against, 66 in favor, and 11 abstaining.
The decision followed a recommendation by the foreign affairs committee, which said the necessary conditions for recognition are not currently met. Some opponents also cited Switzerland’s principle of neutrality as a key reason for the rejection.
