Study finds Lebanese Army struggling to enforce agreement as Hezbollah maintains foothold
The Lebanese army is struggling to enforce security terms under its framework agreement with Israel, while Hezbollah maintains its presence on the ground through aid, medical, and reconstruction organizations, according to a study by the Amit Institute for Terrorism and Intelligence Research.
Two organizations operating in villages across southern Lebanon — the Islamic Health Organization and the “Wa Ta’awanu” association — are linked to or subordinate to Hezbollah, the institute said.
It assessed that their activities run counter to the framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
