Strait of Hormuz traffic nearly grinds to halt after tanker attacks - report
Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slowed dramatically over the weekend following a series of attacks on oil tankers.
Ship-tracking data showed that just five commercial vessels transited the strait on Saturday and none on Sunday, compared with 31 vessels during the previous weekend.
The sharp decline follows attacks on three vessels belonging to Abu Dhabi’s oil company and comes amid a stalemate in negotiations between the United States and Iran.
