Storm “Byron” on the way: Heavy rain in northern and central Israel
Heavy rainfall was recorded overnight (Tuesday) in central and northern Israel, with tens of millimeters accumulating in several areas ahead of the arrival of storm “Byron.”
From Wednesday through Friday, exceptionally heavy rainfall is expected — in some areas 100–150 mm — with the peak on Thursday. Authorities warn of a high risk of flooding along the coast and in low-lying areas, as well as flash floods in the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea region and the Arava. Storm Byron is also forecast to bring strong winds of 60–80 km/h.
