Starlink provides free access in Iran as regime's internet blackout continues amid warnings of a concealed crackdown
Elon Musk’s SpaceX has made Starlink satellite internet free for users in Iran as the country’s internet blackout enters its eighth day. According to multiple sources, U.S.-based activists Ahmad Ahmadian of Holistic Resilience and Mehdi Yahyanejad of NetFreedom Pioneers have confirmed through contacts in Iran that people with Starlink receivers can now access the service without paying a subscription fee.
Iranian activists have called on the international community to intervene, saying the regime’s prolonged internet blackout is intended to conceal its violent crackdown on protesters.
Starlink is banned in Iran, and any receivers have been smuggled into the country.
