Simcha Goldin, standing over his son’s grave: “Hadar was someone who saw joy along the way, and that’s why it’s hard to cry over him
At the gravesite of his son Hadar, whose body had been held by Hamas, Simcha Goldin describes his son’s optimistic and life-loving nature, saying that Hadar’s ability to find joy in every step of the journey makes mourning him even more emotionally complex. The fallen hostage, Lt. Hadar Goldin, is being laid to rest this morning (Tuesday) at the military cemetery in Kfar Saba, 11 years after he was killed in battle during Operation Protective Edge and his body was abducted to the Gaza Strip, where it was held until being returned to Israel overnight between Saturday and Sunday as part of the hostage-return agreement.
