Senior academics and media figures to Israeli DM Katz: “Don’t close Army Radio”
The organization “Academics for a Democratic Israel,” which includes prominent media figures such as Dr. Nachman Shai, Ron Ben-Yishai and Avi Benayahu, has appealed to the defense minister, the cabinet secretary and the attorney general, urging the government not to approve the closure of Army Radio. In their letter, they argued that shutting down the station would “seriously harm freedom of expression and the press.”
