Saudi officials say they oppose Israel’s government, push back against antisemitism claims
Saudi Arabia is pushing back against claims its recent rhetoric toward Israel has crossed into antisemitism, amid tensions with the United Arab Emirates, Kan News reported Saturday.
A Saudi royal source said the criticism targets Israeli government policy, not Jews or Israel itself, and is aimed at protecting Riyadh’s standing in Washington. The source blamed Benjamin Netanyahu for blocking normalization, saying Saudi Arabia supports ties conditional on progress toward a Palestinian state.
As part of the effort to counter the claims, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman recently visited Washington, meeting with Jewish and pro-Israel groups, the report said.
