FM Sa’ar points to Mamdani's ‘incitement’ before antisemitic New York stabbing
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar accused New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani of helping fuel antisemitism after two men, one Jewish, were stabbed near Central Park on Thursday by an attacker shouting “Allahu Akbar.”
“I am appalled by the horrific antisemitic stabbing attack in New York. Appalled, but sadly not surprised,” Sa’ar wrote on X.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the stabbings are being investigated as a possible hate crime, though “mental health may have been a factor.”
“Months of incitement against the Jewish state from Mamdani have helped create a climate in which Jews are targeted,” Sa’ar continued.
“Words have consequences. Mamdani must end the incitement, confront antisemitism with resolve, and act now to protect the city’s Jewish community.”
