Rubio: US bombers moved out of UK due to 'routine rotations', no concern over security of bases
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio asserted that Washington has no concerns over the security of all of its bases, after reports suggested that the U.S. redeployed its B-1 bombers following last week's arrest of five men were arrested near a British air base on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.
He noted that British authorities had been very cooperative on the case, which allegedly is linked to threats from Iran.
"The department of war is constantly reallocation resources where they need to be. There's regularar rotations that happen as well so, we've documented what happened last week. I wouldn't directly tie that to the move that was made," Rubio said.
"It's not unusual to see rotations happen... based on exercises, redeployment" as well as people or planes coming in or out, he added.
