Iran restoring nuclear sites despite agreement with US - report

Iran is carrying out reconstruction work at nuclear facilities damaged during the war, despite a reported agreement with the United States prohibiting such activity, according to a report by the Institute for Science and International Security based on recent satellite imagery.

The report says vehicle activity near Natanz indicates construction work and the reinforcement of tunnel entrances, with some access points reportedly sealed with earth to prevent rapid vehicle access. Similar defensive restoration work, including the construction of earthen berms and obstacles, was also observed at the Isfahan and Fordow nuclear sites.

According to the institute, the U.S.-Iran agreement requires both sides to maintain the status quo and prohibits construction at Iran’s nuclear facilities.
