Report: Diplomatic message from Tehran to Witkoff stopped U.S. military action
The Washington Post reported that a text message sent by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Steve Witkoff was one of the factors that helped halt a U.S. strike on Iran at the last minute on Wednesday. According to the report, Araghchi wrote about the cancellation of executions in Iran.
Iranian medical institutions estimate that more than 16,500 protesters have been killed in the country.
