Qatar hails Dutch, Belgian ban on Israeli settlement products
Qatar welcomed the Netherlands and Belgium's ban on Israeli settlement products in a statement made on Wednesday, calling the move "a crucial step" toward deterring Israeli settlement policies.
“The ministry reiterates the State of Qatar's iron-clad and enduring position in support of the Palestinian cause and the brotherly Palestinian people,” the statement said, calling for a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry expressed hope that more countries would follow suit to "compel Israel to halt its settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories."
