Progress in Oman-Iran talks about temporary Hormuz Strait access - report
There has been some progress in the negotiations between Iran and Oman about a temporary solution for access to the Strait of Hormuz, a source familiar with the details told i24 News.
According to the report, the benefit for Iran would be that access to the strait will be via the Iranian side of the Gulf, rather than the transit route on the Omani side.
During the period of the interim agreement, the regime would remove the remaining naval mines in the strait before discussions on a permanent solution would be launched.
The report noted that Americans are "much more" flexible in their demands than the Omanis, and that the Iranian regime demands that any agreement with Oman must be signed by the U.S. as well.
