Probe of former Israeli military chief prosecutor to resume today after hospitalization
The investigation into former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi is set to resume Sunday after several weeks of suspension. The probe was halted after she attempted to harm herself and was hospitalized. Most investigative steps concerning the alleged leak of the Shde Teyman video and an alleged cover-up within the Military Advocate General’s Corps have already been completed.
At the end of October, Tomer-Yerushalmi acknowledged in her resignation letter to IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir that she approved leaking the video to the media in an effort to counter what she described as a delegitimization campaign against the Military Advocate General’s Corps and the IDF’s law-enforcement authorities amid the investigation into abuse of a detainee at the base.
