President Herzog calls violence in Judea & Samaria a ‘moral stain’

President Isaac Herzog called violence directed at Palestinians and the IDF in Judea and Samaria “a moral stain” in an interview with Ynet released Monday.

“The violence in Judea and Samaria keeps me awake,” President Herzog said. “It is a huge stain on the face of the state, a moral stain.”

Acknowledging the outstanding risk of terrorism in the Palestinian territories, Herzog said the phenomenon of Jewish violence is eroding Israel’s support abroad.

“Last week marked three years since October 7th. The world spoke about October 7th—about the great tragedy, what we endured, and the barbaric, heinous terrorism. And then, inevitably, someone brings up this incident in Judea and Samaria. That is unacceptable, because that is not Israel; this is an incident that can, and must, be dealt with.”

Herzog also addressed the issue of violent crime in Arab society, calling it “a disaster. We are talking about a vast number of citizens—over 1.3 million—living under terror, day and night.”
