Plane with 12 Israeli passengers makes emergency landing in Malaysia
An Emirates plane carrying 12 Israelis en route from Dubai to Singapore made an unplanned landing in Malaysia on Wednesday morning due to adverse weather.
Israel has no diplomatic relations with Malaysia, which is a Muslim country.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry made contact with one of the passengers upon landing to ensure all the passengers were safe and felt secure.
The Israeli missions in Dubai and Singapore monitored the situation until the plane was able to depart for Singapore after a 5-hour delay.
Last week, a flight from Seychelles to Israel made an emergency landing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia following a technical malfunction.
