Palestinian arrested in Crete over alleged plot against Israeli cruise ship - report

A 37-year-old Palestinian man was arrested on the Greek island of Crete on suspicion of planning an attack against an Israeli cruise ship, according to Greek media reports.

The suspect is alleged to have undergone training at a camp in Malaysia, where he learned how to prepare explosive devices for use against a tourist vessel operated by an Israeli company. He is expected to appear in court on Monday.

According to the reports, the arrest stemmed from a separate investigation in Cyprus, where two suspected Hamas operatives were detained after allegedly attending the same training camp in Malaysia and receiving instructions on how to build explosive devices. Greek authorities are continuing their investigation into the alleged plot.
