Not Iran or Gaza: New poll finds 55% of Israelis see internal divisions as top national threat

A majority of Israelis now see internal polarization and societal divisions as the country’s most serious threat, ahead of both Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, according to the Jewish People Policy Institute’s Israeli Society Index.

The survey found that 55% identified internal divisions as Israel’s greatest danger, compared to 23% who cited Iran’s nuclear threat and 18% who pointed to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Overall, 59% of Jews and 39% of Arabs, as well as majorities across the right and center, said social polarization poses the top risk to Israel.
