Netanyahu, Vance meet privately in Washington after recent clash
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Vice President JD Vance met one-on-one in Washington on Tuesday, officials told Axios.
The two held what an Israeli official described as a “frank and candid” conversation, with a U.S. official confirming it as “direct,” the report said, adding that the leaders discussed their differences.
Earlier this month, Vance accused the Israeli government of orchestrating what he described as a “well-funded” influence campaign to undermine U.S. negotiations with Iran and target him personally over his role in the talks.
The accusations followed Vance's warning in June that Israel’s international support had narrowed significantly, and U.S. President Donald Trump “is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time.”
In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu responded by saying he respects Vance but disagrees with his assessment.
