Netanyahu: UK moved to expand sanctions shortly after Israel shared intel on Iran-linked airbase plot
Israel provided Britain with intelligence warning of an Iranian-sponsored attack, only for the UK to impose sanctions on Israel shortly afterward, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with Fox News on Thursday.
“We gave the Brits the intel that there was going to be an attack, and it’s an Iranian-sponsored attack. And pretty much the next day they slapped sanctions on us,” Netanyahu said, calling the sequence “absurd” and indicative of how far “anti-Israel propaganda” had spread.
Globes reported this week that Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said the UK government intends to extend its measures beyond a ban on settlement products to companies and individuals providing services that support Israeli settlement expansion beyond the Green Line.
