Netanyahu says draft law is the beginning of a historic process to integrate Haredim
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Knesset plenum on Monday that the draft law currently under discussion in the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is “the beginning of a historic process to integrate Haredim into the IDF and the security system,” adding that it includes “significant recruitment targets.”
According to Netanyahu, “each additional regular battalion from the Haredi public will free up ten reserve battalions,” and the law “also regulates the status of Torah students whose studies are their profession.”
“The world of Torah has protected us for thousands of years, and it will continue to protect us,” he added.
