Netanyahu denies report that UAE leader warned him before Oct 7, threatens lawsuit against authors
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the Haaretz report, claiming he was warned ten days before the October 7 massacre by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed.
In a post on 𝕏, Netanyahu denied the report and and said he had instructed his lawyers to file a libel suit against the newspaper.
"Contrary to the claims, from the beginning of September until October 7, no conversation took place between the Prime Minister and the President of the United Arab Emirates," Netanyahu said. "The Prime Minister's Office, the National Security Council and the Military Secretariat meticulously examined the prime minister's call log and found no trace of it."
Netanyahu also rejected the claim that Egyptian intelligence chief Gen. Abbas Kamel warned of a possible attack around the same time.
Republican Representative Michael McCaul, confirmed the Egyptian warning several days after October 7, 2023, saying, "We know that Egypt had warned Israel at least three days prior that an event like this could happen.”
