Netanyahu asks Putin to calm Iran, says Israel does not plan to attack
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has used Russian President Vladimir Putin as a channel to convey calming messages to Iran, assuring Tehran that Israel does not intend to launch an attack, diplomatic sources told Kan News on Monday.
Speaking in the Knesset on Monday, Netanyahu said Israel had also warned Iran that any attack on Israel would carry severe consequences.
Israeli officials remain concerned about the risk of Iranian miscalculation, fearing Tehran could strike first out of concern that Israel is planning an attack.
