Millions of views: Golani soldier records himself shooting toward Gaza in video circulating online
A soldier from the Golani unit uploaded to his Instagram account a video in which he is seen shooting toward Gaza “in honor of the New Year” — it was circulated on social media and gained millions of views. The video was reposted by a pro-Palestinian account that monitors posts made by IDF soldiers on social media.
The IDF spokesperson stated that “the soldier seen in the video acted contrary to regulations, firing in an unprofessional manner without being ordered to do so. The incident will be thoroughly investigated. Accordingly, measures will be taken against the soldier involved based on the findings.
