US Amb to UN Waltz arrives in Israel to meet Netanyahu, discuss security and diplomatic situation
The U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, arrived in Jerusalem on Monday to start his official visit to Israel, accompanied by Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon.
The visit will focus on diplomatic meetings, security briefings in the north and south, and an examination of the challenges Israel is facing, according to an official statement.
Waltz is set to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog and receive security briefings from professional officials. He will also meet with the family of Ran Gvili, the last remaining hostage still held by Hamas.
“I welcome Ambassador Waltz on his visit to Israel. This visit sends a clear message: at a time when Israel faces diplomatic and security threats, the United States stands by its side,” said Danon.
