Mike Pence: Iran deal 'smacks of appeasement'

Former Vice President Mike Pence criticized the emerging U.S.-Iran agreement, saying it “smacks of appeasement” and arguing that Iran is not committing to meet key nuclear requirements.

In an interview with CNN, Pence said the framework appears to offer Iran far-reaching economic benefits while failing to secure commitments to end support for terrorism or comply with U.S. nuclear demands.

He also warned against easing sanctions or releasing frozen Iranian assets before Tehran implements the agreement, urging President Donald Trump to maintain pressure on Iran, keep the blockade in place, and consider renewed military action if Iran fails to demonstrate compliance.
