Mediterranean Sea warming, sea levels rising - report
Israel’s National Mediterranean Monitoring Report for 2024 highlights growing environmental concerns, showing that the sea continues to warm and its level has risen by about 15 centimeters since 1992.
The report also points to increasing plastic pollution and the disappearance of native marine species. It was jointly published by the Environmental Protection Ministry, the Energy and Infrastructure Ministry, and the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research Institute.
