Mayor of Palestinian town in Judea and Samaria arrested after being exposed as Hamas member
During extensive overnight operations in Judea and Samaria, 46 wanted terror suspects were arrested by Israel Defense Forces, Israel's Shin Bet security agency and the Border Police.
Among the 46 suspects, 27 belonged to the Hamas terror organization, including the mayor of the town, al-Bireh.
A printing press in Hebron used by terror organizations in the southern city was closed by Israeli authorities and the equipment was confiscated.
Two Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives were arrested in Qabatiya, south of Jenin. During their arrest, weapons and ammunition were also seized.
Israel security forces continue to operate in Judea and Samaria to prevent those territories from becoming another front in the war against Hamas.
