Major Israeli strike on Beirut’s Dahiyeh averted after US intervention
Israel reportedly planned a significant strike in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district, but the operation was postponed at the last moment following American intervention.
According to reports, Israel’s warning ahead of the planned attack was intended to pressure Hezbollah into halting its rocket fire toward northern Israeli communities. In recent hours, intensive talks have been underway between Israel and the United States in an effort to prevent the collapse of ongoing negotiations between Israel and Lebanon.
Egyptian sources told Kan News that Cairo urged the U.S. administration to prevent an Israeli strike in Dahiyeh in order to avoid a broader regional escalation.
