Likud is expected to ask Michael Rabilo to announce that he will not assume the post of State Comptroller in an effort to avoid a constitutional crisis, according to Kan News.
The move follows a High Court ruling ordering a new election for the position. Sources familiar with the discussions said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s associates have held talks with Rabilo and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana to examine possible next steps.
According to the sources, Rabilo is not expected to defy the court’s ruling and would refuse to take office without a new Knesset vote.
