Large fire breaks out overnight north of Sea of Galilee, arson suspected
A large fire broke out near Yehudia, on the north side of the Sea of Galilee last night.
Eight fire crews worked overnight to try to contain the fire. The Israeli Air Force sent firefighting planes from the 249th (Elad) Squadron this morning to assist the efforts.
Firefighters successfully halted the progress of the fire on one front, and hope to extinguish the fire completely later today.
The fire was started in several locations, in an area that has been disputed by local shepherds.
Local authorities say they suspect arson and are opening an investigation.
