Lapid: Ultra-Orthodox leaders are inciting against the IDF while gov't stays silent
Opposition leader Yair Lapid accused ultra-Orthodox leaders of inciting against IDF soldiers and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, while criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers for remaining silent.
Reacting to remarks made by Rabbi Aryeh Yazdi at an anti-conscription rally in Bnei Brak, Lapid said, “The ultra-Orthodox are inciting against our soldiers and placing the chief of staff in danger, while Netanyahu and his ministers are silent as fish.” He added that there had been “not a single word of condemnation” or legal action over what he described as incitement to violence.
“Our soldiers are heroes,” Lapid said. “This government is a pile of cowards.”
