Labor MK Kariv meets with PA officials to discuss cooperation, Saudi normalization
Knesset Member Gilad Kariv of the Labor party met with high-ranking Palestinian Authority figures in Ramallah on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on increasing security cooperation between Israel and the PA, as well as the possibility of Israel's normalization with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Following the meeting, Kariv said, “Regardless of a possible normalization with Saudi Arabia, this is a solid Israeli interest, to strengthen the Palestinian Authority. We need to do it regardless of our desire to expand the circles of the Abraham Accords agreement.”
Kariv also warned: “When the Palestinian Authority is weak, it means that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are getting stronger.”
Kariv is the head of the Knesset Caucus for the Advancement of the Two-State Solution and the Renewal of Diplomatic Negotiations.
