Kan poll: One in five Israelis considered leaving the country
One in five Israelis has considered leaving the country, while one-third know someone who has already moved abroad, according to a Kan News poll examining attitudes toward emigration ahead of the October elections.
The survey found that 12% of respondents said the election results could influence their decision on whether to remain in Israel. About two-thirds said the results would have no impact on their decision, while one-fifth were unsure.
The issue also revealed a sharp political divide. Among coalition voters, 70% said they were not concerned about the number of Israelis leaving the country, compared with 22% who were concerned. Among opposition voters, nearly 60% expressed concern, while about a quarter said they were not worried.
The poll follows a Tel Aviv University study based on Central Bureau of Statistics data that found 268,509 Israelis left the country for at least three months between 2023 and 2025, including roughly 90,000 in the past year.
