Jordan repels Iranian ballistic missile attack

The Jordanian military said it destroyed 18 of 20 ballistic missiles launched at it by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran.

The ballistic missile attack came in retaliation to the destruction of five Iranian oil tankers by the U.S. military's Central Command overnight.

Videos on social media showed U.S. Patriot air defense batteries firing at incoming ballistic missiles, some of which used cluster munitions.

While 18 of the missiles were reported as intercepted, the remaining two fell in unpopulated areas, the Jordanian military said.
