Initial reports in Jordan claimed that Aqaba's airport and seaport had been evacuated over what was described as a "credible, specific threat," and that the U.S. Embassy had urged American citizens to avoid the two facilities.
However, Jordanian officials, including the Ministry of Government Communication and the CEO of the Aqaba Ports Company, have denied the reports, saying the airport and seaport were not closed due to any specific security threat.
