Jewish billionaire and astronaut Jared Isaacman appointed NASA chief

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed billionaire investor Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator.

Isaacman, 42, the first non-professional astronaut to conduct a spacewalk, becomes the first NASA chief in decades to come directly from outside government. Estimated by Forbes to be worth $1.2 billion, he replaces interim NASA head Sean Duffy.
