Israel’s state comptroller: “Integrity of 2026 elections at risk, concern over foreign interference”
State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman warned that Israel is unprepared for foreign interference in the 2026 elections, citing significant deficiencies found in his office’s review. Speaking at Tel Aviv University’s Cyber Week, he pointed to rising Iranian cyber and espionage activity and said the threat could undermine public trust and disrupt the democratic process. He urged the government and the Central Elections Committee to urgently improve their readiness.
