Israel’s Air Force Chief visits Cyprus, holds talks with Greek and Cypriot counterparts

Israel Air Force commander Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar recently visited Cyprus, where he met with senior officials from the Greek and Cypriot air forces to discuss strengthening military cooperation and regional coordination.

The talks focused on joint operational readiness, coordination in regional airspace, and expanding defense ties among the three countries, amid growing security cooperation between Israel, Greece, and Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean.

Greece is also considering the purchase of Israeli air-defense systems as part of a broader military modernization plan, as regional officials raise concerns over Turkey’s expanding military activity in the region, including in Syria and the Mediterranean.
