Israeli public transportation fares are set to rise by 12% in January 2026, bringing the standard fare to 9 shekels (about $2.40). The increase, postponed by a year, is meant to help fund last year’s “Social Justice” reform, and the fare will remain linked to the consumer price index, updated each July.
