Israeli gov’t to approve today Justice Minister Levin’s additional ministerial appointments

The government is expected to approve today the appointment of Justice Minister Yariv Levin to three additional positions: Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Minister of Religious Services, and Minister for Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition. Levin will replace the ministers from the ultra-Orthodox parties who resigned from all three ministries in July following the advancement of the draft-exemption law.

The only ministry held by the ultra-Orthodox parties that will not be transferred to Levin’s control is the Ministry of the Interior, from which MK Moshe Arbel resigned. Part of the ministry’s authorities will be transferred today to the Prime Minister.
