Israeli forces continue counter-terror operations in the West Bank, arrest senior Hamas members
Israeli forces of the IDF, Shin Bet and Border Police arrested 28 persons wanted in connection with terror activities during overnight operations throughout the West Bank, the IDF announced on Wednesday morning.
Among the arrested were senior Hamas members, including Hussein Abu Kawik, who was captured in the village of al-Birah.
Israeli forces also arrested 20 members of a Hamas-affiliated student cell, confiscated Hamas propaganda materials, and destroyed an illegally built home of a Hamas terrorist.
Since the start of the war, around 1,750 wanted persons have been arrested throughout Judea and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank. Approximately 1,000 of the arrested suspects are associated with the Hamas terrorist organization.
