Israeli defense minister on tensions with IDF chief: “We worked together and will keep working together”
Tensions between Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir continue to escalate. Associates of the minister responded to the chief of staff’s recent criticism, accusing him of crossing a red line and undermining the authority of the political echelon. They said Zamir did not share with the defense minister the conclusions and recommendations he received “and may have concealed additional information.”
The associates emphasized that there is no intention to dismiss the chief of staff, but said “he needs to know his place.”
