Israeli-Arab ambulance driver arrested for spying for Iran
An ambulance driver from northern Israel was arrested on suspicion of carrying out espionage missions for Iran, which reportedly included photographing President Isaac Herzog at a hospital in northern Israel and the hometown of former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
According to a statement by the Shin Bet and Israel Police, Amir Hisham Mohammad Titi, a 34-year-old resident of Bi'ina, "exploited his unrestricted access to hospitals" to pass "information and photographs to his handler."
Other sites that Titi photographed included Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, and a demonstration at Horev Center in Haifa.
"In return for carrying out these missions, Titi received tens of thousands of shekels, which were transferred to him through the bank accounts of his family members as well as via payments to a digital wallet," the statement said.
